Hi friends!! We have officially completed week 1 of our training camp! I have an abundance of emotions as we proceed with this journey. A sense of peace, while still feeling anxious, but an overall feeling of excitement for what the Lord has to come for me and my squad!
I am blessed to be on an amazing team of 8 girls: Jasmine Castaneda, Mackenna Peterson, Lily Kincaid, Leann Allen, Aubrey Havenbush, Madeline Petry, and our beautiful team leader, Clara Leverich. Our team is just a small branch of our entire squad which consists of 43 racers, 6 squad leaders, and 2 squad mentors. I am beyond excited to continue growing close with my team and eventually go out into the field! Our first stop will be in Cambodia but for now we will continue training in Gainesville, Georgia for the next 4-5 weeks. While in training, we are having fun and embracing the outdoors. We are all sleeping in tents and even hand-washing all of our clothes! Gainesville, Georgia is much cooler than Arizona (my home state) but the humidity is something I am not quite use to yet! It is definitely a new experience for us all but it’s ultimately bringing us all closer together and closer with the Lord. On a daily basis, we attend 2 sessions in which we get to hear messages from many different speakers. When not in session, we get to spend a lot of time bonding and learning more about our squad-mates during Squad time. In our squads we get to reflect and talk about what we just learned from the previous session.
This past week, the wonder of the Lord as become so evident. We get the opportunity to worship and spend time in His word each and every day and His presence continues to become more and more clear. The shared sense of wonder and desire to learn more about Him is refreshing and something I am excited to for me and my squad to continue growing in. Please continue praying for my team throughout the next 9 months. We are all so eager to go out and make Jesus famous but there is still a lot to learn and overcome before then.
Last weeks recap :)) A little late as we had technical difficulties accessing our blogs!
