Hi Friends!! This update is long over-due! Here is what me and my team have been up to! First of all, during the first week of October, the girls of X and W squad went to Florida to do a week of hurricane disaster relief! My team specifically painted homes as well as installed new doors and trim! After florida, we returned to camp in Gainesville as we prepared to hit the field and leave for Cambodia! We completed our final week in Gainesville which was filled with rest and lots of mentorship from our amazing coaches, Tim and Karen Harrison along with Drew and Marie Petersen.

It was finally time for the long-awaited day! On October 14th, my whole squad headed to the airport for Cambodia. It was a long journey. Our first 10-hour flight took us to Istanbul, Turkey. After a short layover, we had another 10-hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand! We were fortunate enough to have a 12-hour layover in Thailand so we could explore a bit! It was a beautiful city with lots of delicious food! Once our layover was concluded, we had one last flight before Cambodia! After a short 1.5 hours we were finally there!

I am excited to say that I am officially in Cambodia!!! It was an anxious 6-weeks leading up to this moment, and it has already been so fulfilling and everything I could have wished for. The first night, all of X-Squad got a little taste of the country’s capital, Phnom Penh. We stayed in a hostel which was such a unique experience! The next morning, all of the teams went their separate ways and my team journeyed a couple hours to a smaller city called Kampong Thom.

This will be my home for the next 5 weeks! I am already so in love with this place and all of the amazing people. My team is teaching english and painting a small mural at a school called Good Seed International School. We are creating relationships with the students and teachers and it has been so beyond fulfilling. The kiddos have been such a light to me and my team. Every single day, seeing their excitement and smiles as we walk into school, is truly the best feeling! We are given the opportunity to read with them and even occasionally go to a market with them as they work on translating for us! My whole team is so excited for what the Lord will do during our time here! Our biggest goal: to make Jesus famous!!

Attached are a few pictures of what my new home is like! Please continue praying for the whole squad as we partake in this journey!
